Dark Botanicals - Dr Lenni George

When the sun sinks into the sea, and darkness broods over the land.. a subtle yet palpable transformation takes place, and good loses the battle over evil… God and his dominion take flight as the light falls and all manner of evil creatures rise from darkness… Worst of all are the human quislings, consorts of the devil, the witches warlocks and sorcerers, who under the cover of the night tend their magical gardens, gather their herbs and create the poisons, potions and protections for the whole cycle of life. 

Lenni George is an active herbalist and potion maker; she grows her own magical plants and has created both a moon garden, dedicated to Goddess energies with connections to the moon such as Diana Eastre, Hekate Hretha and Selene and is based on a respect for older traditions, with her  research of lunar months as they were understood in Anglo-Saxon and European cultures, dating back to Bede’s The Reckoning of Time, written in 725.   Lenni is currently working on her ‘Dark Botanicals’ Gothic Garden of Poisons and dark and black plants and flowers… growing from seed many of her specimens. In her workshops she takes a wander through the witch’s garden, looks at magical herbs and their uses as well as some of the history and lore relating to magical plants.  On the journey she examines the ingredients of flying ointments, and peeks inside what the witch’s store cupboard.  ​
